Sometimes, a web site can be Banned (blacklisted) by Google. Usually, this happen when you implemented unhallowed Search Engines Optimization tricks such as Cloaking, content hiding, fancy re-directions, "shadow" domains etc ...
Google is quite precise about it : Search Engine Optimizers & Google.

This tool will tell you if you where unlucky enough to be blacklisted by Google.

If this is the case, it will probably take some time to get back to normal.

You should first make sure nothing unhallowed is being used any more on your site.
If you think you did not implemented any unhallowed techniques, you should still make sure no bad soul did it for you, such as a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) service you used once or someone willing to take over your market.

Then, you should start writing very gentle mails to Google, explaining them how and why you mistaken, what you did to go back to normal, and asking them to please unban your site. And then wait.

Every mail sent to Google should be carefully written, they have full power here, so you don't want to bug them in any manner.
